Our Mission & Vision
A mission to empower, educate and drive health outcomes.
Our focus is on the women and children in remote and rural communities in north eastern India - helping them to achieve their true potential. Providing them with a supportive environment in which they can flourish reduces domestic violence, illness and malnutrition due to extreme poverty, child marriage, drug and alcohol abuse. It also helps to eliminate the horrors of child trafficking.
A vision to support and connect.
HOI is currently focussed on the following strategic priorities:
Continue supporting vulnerable and poverty-stricken communities with emergency food and medical supplies to supplement government aids, which have proven inadequate.
Maintain funding six schools, which ensures over 900 children receive primary education to help create better futures for themselves and their families.
Provide funding to support special projects such as cottage industry development, education in health and nutrition and building resilience training in existing Women’s Empowerment Groups.
Develop stronger connections with our NGO-partner Seva Kendra in India to identify opportunities to sustain the community as the ‘new normal’ ways of life emerge.
